My husband and I went to Malawi in 2009. We stayed at the home of Semu and Sophie and met their daughter, Prisca.
At first, she was afraid of us. But after a few days she got used to us living in her house. We noticed a picture on the wall of a young boy. Sophie explained that at age six, Caleb had gone to live with his grandparents to go to a good school. That is when I realized the sacrifices people make for a good education.
When we visited again, three years later, Caleb was home for a holiday. We finally got to meet him and their little sister, Faith.
